Does anyone else have leaking and loose rear outer axle seals. I have put new seals in from Mahindra on one axle side and it pushed the whole seal out while mowing- I thought the seal felt loose putting it in. So I cleaned everything up and permatexed the seal in. And put a home made seal holder to keep it from coming out. Well, it did not come out but it is leaking. Thoughts- solutions- ideas. Mahindra is no help!!
if the seal felt loose going in that’s usually a worn seal bore in the housing. maybe Loctite 620/640 retaining compound would work and lightly staking the bore so the new seal has some bite. Also check that the rear axle vent isn’t plugged, because pressure buildup will push oil past the seal or even walk it out. While you’re in there, make sure there’s no axle end play from a worn bearing and inspect the axle surface for a groove where the seal rides — sometimes setting the new seal slightly deeper or shallower helps. If it keeps happening, the housing itself may be worn.
