I have a 2015 4540 that leaks hydraulic fluid out of the PTO seal. I replaced the seal and the flange and in 2 hours it blew the seal out of the hole around the shaft and leaked the hydraulic fluid out. Had numerous seals and flanges and even a new PTO shaft installed still blows the seal out and leaks fluid. I finally engineered a plate to hold the seal in and now after the fluid gets hot the engine check light comes on. Need some help on this?
I don't know where exactly it's located, but on the upper side of transmission/rear axle there should be a breather. Sounds like as the fluid is heating up it's not letting it breath, then the pressure from the fluid heating up is possibly causing the seal to pop.
I removed and replaced the breather and I even drilled the air escape hole alittle bigger so I was sure pressure buildup was not happenening
Dennis,
I don't beleive the check engine light has any way to be turned on from anything in the hydraulic system. I think you have another issue going on.
